Hi All,
We've been hearing that some of us are having issues with the cycle detection loops shown in the P43 Signals Specification.

Can you please respond here with details of your issues, and also any details you have of how you fixed it? Maybe a different loop design, or different Q values?

Please post back here so we can update the P43 spec and keep it current.

Hi Simon,
Go to snug.org.nz, select 'presentations' from the menu, choose 'SNUG 2018 Hamilton Presentations', go to the end of Day 1, and choose the links from John's presentation.

One of the topics discussed at SNUG in Hamilton was the Wait Extinguish. Should we be keeping the red man lit at all times (except during 'walk' time), or should we be continuing with the current practice of dropping a few seconds after the clearance time is finished?

Hi All,
SNUG is here to help with facilitating industry-specific training. What sort of things would you like us to include as training options?
Please start some discussions by posting some responses.

Hi Daniel,
SNUG now have the NZTA P43 Specification for Traffic Signals available on the SNUG Specifications page - http://snug.org.nz/specifications/
You can also access this from the menu on the SNUG homepage.

We also have the regional special conditions available here, along with contact information for the 'local' signals contacts.

Brendon Tong did a lot of work on this a few years ago. If you contact Brendon directly he'll be able to share with you the results of his testing.

Although this won't actually answer your question.

I suspect the actual answer to your question is the same reason we don't do a lot of stuff - we may not have been able to technically achieve it in the past, and now we can there is no pressure to actually do it, because we've never done it...

Hi Daniel,
We aim to have the P43 National Signals Specification 'housed' here on the SNUG website shortly.
At the moment you can see the consultation version online at https://www.nzta.govt.nz/about-us/consu … c-signals/

Welcome to the forum :-)

What do you think of the forum section topics?
Do you think we should have more topics, or should we change the existing topics around a bit?

Please feel free to comment.
