Second Gold Sponsor Named

 August 01, 2018

The SNUG committee is proud to announce the second GOLD sponsor for the 2018 two-day SNUG workshop being held in Hamilton in November.

Fusion Networks is our second confirmed GOLD sponsor.

We are securing our remaining sponsors at present, and will be announcing them over the coming days and weeks.

I'm sure most of you know who Fusion Networks are, but here are a few words about them.

Fusion Networks provides bespoke technology solutions for business. Fusion has been providing agile and innovative services across telecommunications, IT and IT support, Cloud, Networks and cyber security for nearly a decade. An industry-leading New Zealand company, it has offices in Auckland, Wellington, Tauranga and Christchurch.

MD & New Zealand ITS Board Member and VP, Andrew Gurr says its no surprise Fusion has a major commitment to ITS, critical for New Zealand infrastructure and future transport technologies.

Fusion’s work setting up and managing the communication network for Auckland’s $1.4B Waterview Tunnel project was an exciting challenge. Fusion provides managed circuits to traffic lights for Auckland Transport, NZTA across NZ, Christchurch, Tauranga and Nelson City Councils, along with a selection of other regional councils. The team manages SCATS® servers for Dunedin City Council and Wellington City Council Gurr says whether it’s developing SCATS systems, supporting autonomous car-driving technologies or active mobility with commuter biking, Fusion engineers are well-known for their ability to provide technology solutions outside the box for clients.

“We’re an independent lot and because we are agile, we can work in teams to bring the right combination of intelligence to bear on problem solving and the rapid resolution of critical issues,” he says.

Fusion is on the NZ Government TaaS Panel to supply Connectivity services to Government agencies. In addition to its major commitment with ITS clients, Fusion has a strong track record in the private sector, and in education using technology to support 21st century learning. It works at primary, secondary, and tertiary levels, at WINTEC, EIT, and in more than 60 schools looking after more than 15,000 student, teacher and school devices around New Zealand in the Manaiakalani digital programme.

Fusion demonstrates leadership in technology-related transport skill requirements and availability with its Intern and Student programmes to address the skills gap and inspire young people in the ITS environment and IT sector generally.

Fusion installs solutions within its own core infrastructure, or in partnerships to make it work for customers. It’s is a fully-fledged Retail Service Partner (RSP), supplying Chorus, Enable, UFF and Internet services over its own national network. Its network spans from Dunedin and Christchurch to Auckland via its own equipment. The company owns its Internet, hosted firewalling, mobile and SIP voice services to complement its national network managed by a large team of skilled network engineers.

Our sponsors help enable our workshop, and the other work we do. Please remember to support them where you can.

From the SNUG Chair Jeff Greenough, and the rest of the SNUG committee, thank you for keeping in touch.
